PHARMACEUTICAL WASTE DISPOSAL

Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal Solutions

At HNHS, we believe that being “responsible” means not only meeting the needs of our customers but also doing what is right for the communities we live and work in. As stewards of the environment, we understand the significant impact improper disposal of pharmaceutical waste can have on the health of our communities and the environment.

Flushing and dumping, once common go-tos for disposal, are very harmful practices today. Numerous peer-reviewed studies, including those conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), have documented the presence of pharmaceuticals in the drinking and groundwater supplies of both the U.S. and other developed nations. It is widely accepted that the trace amounts of these drugs in our water supply can have long-term, detrimental effects on human health, wildlife, and ecosystems. Given the gravity of this issue, we believe that responsible pharmaceutical waste disposal is crucial to protecting public health and preserving the environment.

In line with our commitment to being responsible environmental stewards, we developed our Non-Hazardous Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal Service to help healthcare providers and pharmacies dispose of pharmaceuticals safely, in a way that is both environmentally responsible and compliant with regulatory requirements.
